I was born in Lima, Peru to Argentine parents and left within the year of my birth.
Born with a hernia, I was set for surgery and my spiritual Mami sought out curanderas and healers in Lima. I was dedicated to the Pachama there by one healer and then a guiding spirit was named that I've been honoring ever since. I healed without surgery and have never had any issues of that sort again. Deeply grateful for the healing and my cosmic origins.
While I always felt a connection to spirit of the land, I never claimed it as the land of my ancestors because I simply didn’t know…I believed my indigenous roots came from Argentina and did not want to appropriate what was not a part of my lineage.
Integrity is at the heart of the spiritual path I walk. It was only through both the regular DNA tests and one specializing in Latino Ancestry that I discovered that my indigenous ancestors came from Peru and Mexico. This knowing filled me with peace. Born to return. Healing the colonizer and the colonized within me has been a decades long journey and to finally know this beautiful unknown part of my lineage allowed more healing.
Two days before my wedding in the summer of 2021, I found out my familia would not be attending due to Covid. I had already lost my Papi, Mami and youngest brother Kevin, all in 2020 ( different causes) and now I had a very heavy feeling that some family would wind up with a serious case though they seemed healthy- and it was so. In the meantime, Spirit and my familia on the other side supported my beautiful wedding where we honored ancestors and danced to our lineages!
After the wedding the spiritual work began and as I stood in front of my family altar lighting candles, adding glasses of water and burning copal incense I prayed, invoked and asked Spirit to not take anymore family from me.
I had lost too much and was unwilling to lose more. As family members fought for their lives in the hospital, I journeyed and invoked my ancestors, I saw what I now know are the great Apus Mountains and the sacred Paqos healers coming to me and saying, “ You have sat in Lakota Inipi ceremony almost 20 years…that is good y nosotros? Y Nosotros? How about Us?When will you embrace and know us fully?”
Spirit was guiding me to study,
to learn, to remember and to return.
Within a few weeks I found the Inca Medicine School and began a ten month training to be a Nusta Paqo in the Qero tradition with Maestro Apaza and the Apaza family. From learning despachos to receiving light and ancestral messages during my initiations, I’ve been guided, loved and seen from my beloved machulas and my Ayllu ( sacred community) in Cusco.
I am a Ñusta Paqo, humble mesa carrier and initiated into both Chumpi sacred stone healing and the Seven Ñustas Healing. I have completed my training as of April 2022 but as we know, now the work of living the practice begins! It is with great munay and gratitude that I embark on this journey with you all!
Con gratitud y amor a mis Maestro Alejandro Apaza Y Maestro Justino Apaza and the entire Apaza family. Gracias gracias gracias. This work is needed and I am deeply grateful for this gift.
